Accessible Easter activities in the USA

Easter day is coming. It is a perfect time to have fun with loved ones. Many families celebrate the arrival of spring with colorful eggs and baskets full of sweets. In this week's post we give you four ideas for accessible plans in different destinations in the country.

New York’s Easter Parade & Bonnet Festival

The best headdresses will be seen on Easter Sunday on Fifth Avenue in New York. Beautifully decorated hats, period costumes and lots of color. New York’s Easter Parade & Bonnet Festival marks the beginning of the spring season and invites you to enjoy the streets.
The official tourism website of the city of New York recommends seeing the parade in the area where St. Patrick’s Cathedral is located.
If this is your first time visiting New York, we recommend that you download our free guide to find out about the places of interest accessible to visitors with reduced mobility.

Adventures in Illinois

The fun intensifies at the adventure park. Located in Lemont, Illinois, The Forge: Lemont Quarries has special activities for Saturday, April 8, from nature scavenger hunts to photo ops with the Easter Bunny.
The park’s official website indicates that the facilities are suitable for visitors with cognitive and physical disabilities. As also specified, outdoor events are accessible, as are restrooms and restaurants.

Natural dyeing of eggs at the Atlanta Botanical Garden

Organic pigments that are extracted from certain plants can surprise us with their colors. The Atlanta Botanical Garden is organizing a special activity tomorrow so that children can decorate eggs with these natural dyes and learn more about them.
This plan is different and didactic. You should know that almost all areas of the garden are accessible. In addition, courtesy wheelchairs and scooters are provided for an additional cost.

White House Easter Egg Roll

White House Easter Egg Roll in Washington DC is one of the most popular events in the country. This centuries-old tradition will take place on Monday, April 10 this year. As is customary, the children will use wooden spoons to roll the eggs around the South Lawn of the White House. There will also be an egg hunt, workshops, a talent contest, a reading corner and an obstacle course, among other activities.
Tickets to attend the event are free, but not everyone can get them, as they are in the hands of chance. First you have to fill out an online form. Applicants’ names are entered into a random draw, with those selected receiving an email notification to RSVP and obtain tickets. The draw for this 2023 is already closed, but stay tuned to be able to attend another time.
As the website indicates, the activity is accessible to people with reduced mobility. In addition, event staff are available to provide additional accessibility information.

If you travel to any of the destinations mentioned, remember that you can find accessible accommodation at We guarantee the reservation of your adapted room.
