Big Sky, Montana
Big Sky, Montana is one of the favorite winter destinations to still enjoy the snow. The resort admits equipment or mobility aids such as mono-skis, bi-skis or stabilizers. On the official Big Sky Resort website you can find contact emails to inquire about the use of motorized mobility devices or service animals. In addition, it is possible to attend adapted lessons with Eagle Mount of Bozeman.
If you would like to practice adapted skiing in other parts of the world, take a look at the post we published a couple of months ago on our blog.
New Orleans, Louisiana
Have fun like never before in New Orleans. This 2023, Mardi Gras is celebrated on Tuesday, February 21. Normally, visitors usually arrive at the latest on the Saturday before Mardi Gras and extend their stay until Ash Wednesday. Check the schedules and organize your trip in advance.
The New Orleans Regional Transportation Authority (RTA) provides a schedule of parades by neighborhood so you can plan and get around with ease. The buses are accessible, as they have drop-down ramps, priority seating, and wheelchair areas. In addition, the red trams have elevators that facilitate entry for people with reduced mobility.
It seems to us that it is very worthwhile to attend this colorful event. However, you must keep in mind that the presence of tourists will increase on these dates and, with it, the prices of accommodation.
In case you can’t visit New Orleans in February, you should know that the city holds different festivals throughout the year. Previously we made some recommendations.
Valley of Fire State Park, Nevada
Summers in the state of Nevada can be especially hot. For this reason, February is an excellent month to visit the natural wonders of the region.
Valley of Fire State Park gets its name from its striking red sandstone formations, which seem to burn in the reflection of the sun. People with reduced mobility can enjoy recreational activities in this beautiful place. The campsites are adapted and there are paved paths. If you need any additional support, you can contact the State Parks system directly (the phone number is listed in the last FAQ).
Declared the first UNESCO City of Food in the United States, Tucson enjoys 350 days of sunshine each year. Likewise, it hides incredible natural landscapes that make any traveler fall in love.
Discover the beautiful Saguaro National Park: there are paved areas, an accessible visitor center and ample parking, among other facilities.
You can also go adaptive biking on the paved paths of the Chuck Huckelberry Loop. Tucson has a variety of attractions accessible to people with reduced mobility. You can find more information about it at Visit Tucson.
February is a good month to have fun at the Orlando theme parks. Due to the low temperatures, you may not be able to enjoy the water attractions, but you will avoid the crowds, the hotels offer discounts, and you will be able to see everything more calmly.
In our Orlando guide we provide information on accessibility that will be useful during your visit. Download it for free.
