Vienna is another city that gains magic in the Advent period. The Christmas market on Rathausplatz, known as the “Christkindlmarkt“, receives many visitors from home and abroad who are amazed at its beauty.
In the illuminated stalls you can buy toasted almonds and chestnuts, freshly baked cookies, cakes, tree decorations, figures for the nativity scene, wooden kitchen utensils, handmade sweaters or lanterns.
This 2022, the Christkindlmarkt will be from November 19 to December 26. There are also other beautiful markets in St. Charles Square (November 18 – December 23), the courtyard of Schönbrunn Palace (November 19 – January 4), the Spittelberg neighborhood (November 11 – December 23) , the Belvedere Palace (November 18 – December 26), Maria Theresien Square (November 16 – December 26) and Freyung Square (November 18 – December 23).

The German capital has also opened all its Christmas markets. The most popular has always been held at the Gendarmenmarkt, although this year and the next two it will move to the Bebelplatz (November 21 – December 30).
