The hofburg

Built by the Babenbergs and later enlarged by the Habsburgs, The Hofburg is one of the largest palace complexes in the world.

In this place, you will find one of the most beautiful libraries. The State Hall of the Austrian National Library was built between 1723 and 1726. You will be amazed by the famous frescoes by Daniel Gran and their more than 200,000 books. The State Hall is accessible to wheelchair users. The Austrian National Library indicates there is a blue doorbell located next to the right-hand door on Josefsplatz. Visitors have the option to press it to request help and bypass the step. The staff will be happy to put up a ramp.

Take some time to wander through the Burggarten, a beautiful private garden that houses a well-known monument to Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
