On the edge of the Anaga Mountains Biosphere Reserve lies the historic center of Tegueste. Since Guanche times, this area has preserved natural and historical richness.
Its waters and mountains provided the resources for the community to thrive. So much so that women became an essential workforce of milk suppliers serving the city.
The gangocheras (women who sold food and goods) also passed through this area, which has changed over time. Today, other women play a leading role in Tegueste’s society.
Among them, we will discover the tireless work of some who kept traditions such as embroidery alive; others who made history in music and folklore; and those who have given their names to some of the finest wines of the region.
WITHOUT THEM, THERE WOULD BE NEITHER WINE NOR MILK
If you add extra activities or book the Premium experience, we recommend including a gastronomic stop. We can make reservations at local restaurants with traditional island cuisine and provide transfers, or if you prefer, you may bring your own picnic and we will find a scenic spot to enjoy your meal.
